Jan 12th Rubber Block Carving with Nova Community Arts

Learn how to carve and print your own rubber block print. We’ll start with the basics of carving, including how to get different textures and effects. After, you’ll get to print your block on our portable printing press to create an edition of prints, as well as print your block on a canvas tote. You’ll leave with several copies of your print, your custom printed tote, and your carved block.

This is a hands-on activity that will include carving a block and printing it. This activity can be a little messy due to the use of acrylic ink for printing and involves a sharp tool for the actual carving. The participants will leave with their block, printed tote, and the prints that they make. We will provide all materials and will bring a small press for the printing.
